I had the pleasure of attending a workshop that was hosted by Score – Richmond last night. For those of you you that are not aware; Score is the nonprofit resource partner of the SBA (Small Business Administration). They offer no cost professional coaching and mentor-ship for individuals that are looking to start or improve a business. They offer a broad range of services and resources for free or a small fee. You can visit their website here: richmond.score.org. Occasionally they have speakers and tonight the featured guest was Bruce Goldman of Bright Orange Advertising and his topic was on “39 Smart Marketing Tactics for Under $500 Each”. Mr. Goldman has been in the Advertising field for a few years and has garnered a slew of industry awards so this looked to be a informative night. Some of his tips were obvious to a few of us; get out there and network, use free resources whenever available and to use Google Analytics to obtain measurable results. But he also had a few reminders for the more experienced in the crowd. From being able to measure the Break Even Point of your Ads to buying page dominant ads and purchasing vertical ad space. It is always important to hear what industry leaders have to say and the tips that Mr. Goldman provided are not only useful but also practical.
Welcome to the JDGD blog, where we share news, resources, and ideas on design!
